Founded in 1900, The University of Texas Longhorn Band directed by Dr. Robert Carnochan is considered to be one of the premiere marching bands in the nation. In 1986, the Longhorn Band was named the winner of the prestigious Sudler Award, which recognizes the outstanding marching band in the nation. Comprised of students from all academic disciplines, the Longhorn Band enjoys travel to exciting away-games and regularly thrills crowds of 80,000 at home football games.
