The University of Texas Longhorn Basketball Band, directed by Damon Talley, is comprised of highly energetic and spirited musicians who play for every men's and women's home basketball game at the Frank C. Erwin Center. In the spring, the Longhorn Basketball Band represents The University of Texas at the Big 12 Conference and NCAA Tournaments. The band plays a wide range of repertoire including rock-and-roll, jazz, current popular music, and Latin.

How to Join

Basketball Band auditions will take place on TUESDAY, JANUARY 20th from 3:45-4:45PM. There will be a meeting at 3:45PM in the Band Hall with auditions to follow. Anyone interested in playing in the Basketball Bands must audition at this time. This includes those who are unable to register for the course. If you auditioned for Basketball Band this past fall, there is no need to re-audition.

All players should come prepared to play your CHROMATIC SCALE and Texas Fight. Copies of Texas Fight are available on the Basketball Band bulletin board, and can be downloaded from http://winds.music.utexas.edu/Auditions.

Please be sure to sign up for an audition time on the bulletin board (outside of MBE 2.404).
