Audition Information
Auditions take place the first week of classes of each fall term, and are heard
by the conductors and the appropriate applied music Professor.
Each audition is seven minutes in length. Students are requested to perform solo
material of their choice which demonstrates both the technical and expressive qualities
of their performance, not to exceed four minutes in length. Students are also required
to prepare a set of excerpts available below.
If you are only interested in auditioning for "Symphony Band", please plan to prepare
solo materials only. You do not have to play the excerpts.
Audition Sign Up Procedure
A signup sheet will be located outside the Wind Ensemble Office (MBE 2.402) beginning
Aug. 15th. Please include your full name and a phone number where you can be reached.
If you are required to schedule outside of the time reserved for your instrument,
(due to class conflicts or lack of available slots) please clearly indicate your
instrument next to your name.
Should all available slots fill up, please do not add additional times to this list.
See a band TA or Brooke Hengst about scheduling at an alternate time.

Volleyball/Basketball Band Audition Information
Volleyball/Basketball Band auditions will take place on THURSDAY, AUGUST 27th from
3:30-5:00PM. There will be a meeting at 3:30PM in the Band Hall with auditions to follow.
Anyone interested in playing in the Volleyball or Basketball Bands must audition at this
time. This includes those who are unable to register for the course.
All players should come prepared to play your CHROMATIC SCALE and
Texas Fight. Copies of Texas Fight are available on the Basketball
Band bulletin board, and can be downloaded below.
Please be sure to sign up for an audition time on the bulletin board (outside of
MBE 2.404).
